Hand-shaped · No. 41Pencil to resin
We draw each board at full scale before the planer touches foam. Move across the bench and the template becomes the board — tinted, pinlined, waxed and ready for the water.

Each one is shaped to order from the template you see first. Hover a card to look through the pencil at the finished glass; on a phone, tap “Show glass”.

9'4" × 22½" × 3"
A single-fin noserider for the long, peeling rights at Ribeira d’Ilhas. Flat through the middle, a soft roll in the nose, hard edge in the last eighteen inches.

5'8" × 21¼" × 2⅝"
A keel twin for summer mush that still wants to fly. Wide and forgiving under the chest, deep swallow so it pivots off the top without a fight.

6'2" × 19¼" × 2⅜"
The winter board. Narrow, pulled-in nose and a squash with plenty of tail rocker for steep, hollow sections at Coxos when the swell turns north-west.
Every board starts as a full-size pencil drawing on kraft — outline, rocker, thickness flow — fitted to your weight, your break and the way you stand.
The blank is cut to the template line and taken down by hand under side lights, rails first, until the foam matches the numbers in the margin.
Tint, pinline and laminate go on in one quiet afternoon. Resin colour is mixed per board and logged, so a repair matches years later.
Hot coat, sand to 320, a gloss if you want it. You collect it at the bay and we walk down to the water together for the first paddle.
